From a previous seventeen-year career in the ‘Rugby Theatre’ (not so glam surgical nurse) to the amusement of colleagues I switched to art.
Since graduating in 1999 from Loughborough University, where I received a BA (Hons) in 3D Design, I have worked as a Freelance Artist and Arts Workshop Co-ordinator for many organisations which include; Imagineer Productions (Coventry), Ali Petty (London), Arts Exchange, Coventry Community Circus, Rugby Art Gallery, and ‘The World Famous Pyrotechnic Company’.
I also work as a part time lecturer at Warwickshire College.

For the last twelve years I have been drawn towards carnival and the exciting way it involves the community in accessible art. I have attended national carnival conferences and gained experience in designing and building, as well as leading community “Mass Camps”.
I have facilitated fashion and jewellery workshops for both teachers and young people.

My work involves a lot of recycling and use of accessible every day objects.
My work encompasses all abilities, encourages development and self-expression, builds confidence and is lots of fun.

I have completed the “Creative Partnership Course” and have found it inspirational. It has bought me up to date on current key issues and drivers of education. I particularly related to the idea of placing the child at the centre of learning, ‘Every Child Matters’

I have completed training in; First aid, Child Protection,
Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Dyslexia Awareness
Makaton, Disability Discrimination Act.
